Lesotho Meteorological Services
Quality Management System
The objective of the Project is to ensure provision of customer oriented quality products and service by complying with the recommended quality practices and standards as set out by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
In line with national priorities including Lesotho Vision 2020 the National Strategic Development Plan II, the Quality Management System (QMS) will encourage and support the continual improvement of the quality of the delivered meteorological services and products to the aviation community and the general public at large. The project is implemented by the Lesotho Meteorological Services over a period of 2 years. The project is funded by the Government of Lesotho.
The project is expected to seek ISO 9001:2015 Certification and to establish fully functional national Automated Weather Stations (AWS) capable of providing timely and relevant climate data to a wide group of stakeholders and sectors at the national, regional and local level.
The project will be hinged on the following components:
Define the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives Developing and documenting the mandatory procedures Developing and documenting operational procedures Developing QMS templates/forms Selecting internal auditors Preparation for certification
